Weekly Notices, Term 3, week 7

Good morning to everyone on another lovely sunny day.

Happy Fathers Day to all our dads, we hope you have a special day in your bubble.

It's hard to believe that almost three weeks ago we went into lockdown.  A big thank you to all of our families for the support you are giving your children with their Home Learning Programmes during this time.  It has been a big learning curve for many of us and certainly a time of building resilience.  I feel so blessed to work in such a supportive and caring community.

The Prime Minister announces late Monday afternoon what the next plan is.  Fingers crossed we move to Level 2 soon.

This week we will continue with the Home Learning online. We have our daily meetings on Google Meet at 10am. The children and us teachers have been enjoying connecting and doing some fun activities. For Room 17's meeting tomorrow, come dressed in black or rugby gear (hope the All Blacks win their game tonight!). On Tuesday we will do our "Who is this cute baby?" Be ready with pen and paper (you can dress up as a baby for a laugh if you want, or you can come in your favourite colour).

We hope you have had no problems accessing the learning on the Middle School Kahikatea site. Remember that all the information regarding home learning can be found on the class blogs and Kahikatea Site. If you have any concerns or questions do not hesitate to contact me, my email is lorettet@stmarysrotorua.school.nz

We realise that many parents will be working from home and that time to help children with their learning may be limited. The learning posted on the site is intended to be independent work for the children as much as possible. Please encourage your child to do as much work as is feasible given the lockdown realities in your household bubble.

Week 6 Assembly: Mr James has put together a presentation for us to enjoy.

Here is our latest school assembly.

Enjoy the rest of this lovely spring day.

God bless

Lorette Tiedt and Team Kahikatea
