Term 2, Week 5 Notices

  Welcome to Week 5 Term 2 Morena Room 17 Whānau Week 4 was busy with some really awesome events. Students participated in a successful Cross Country and were able to experience their fitness training pay off. On Thursday we had a wonderful Pentecost liturgy run by the Kākano team. On Thursday Mr Bach and I had an inspiring visit to St. Patrick's Te Awamutu to observe and learn more about how they do "play" in their school.  We have some great ideas and may need your help to collect things that we can use.  Watch this space! What's happening this week: It is Samoan Language Week. On Wednesday and Friday lunchtime, Mrs Mareroa will be in Kakano with some Samoan-related activities for all students to have a go at.  Wednesday: Library.  Wednesday: Kapa Haka. Friendly Reminders: - Chromebooks need to come to school charged. As we are a BYOD school, many of our learning activities now require devices. Headphones are essential, please. Week 4, Term 2 Notices

  Week 4 Notices - May 23, 2021 Tena Koutou ,  to all our students and parents. We had a wonderful Ascension liturgy on Thursday run by the Kahikatea team as well as Assembly on Friday run by Rooms 16 & 17.  Thank you to all our parents who came to watch.  We also have Cross country this Wednesday in the afternoon. Children will get changed into their P.E. gear at the school before being transported to the Red Woods. More info below. Ascention Liturgy and Assembly

  It was a busy week last week with Kahikatea leading the Ascention Liturgy on Thursday and then our Room 16 and Room 17 assembly on Friday.  We were very proud of our students who had parts to read.  They did it with pride and confidence and read slowly and clearly.  Well done to everyone for sitting respectfully and participating with enthusiasm.   Liturgy photos Assembly photos Thank you to those parents who were able to join us.

  Here are a few photos to show the fun and creativity going on in Rooms 16 and 17 over the past week.  We have noticed children playing and working together to build, and create Lots of collaboration and negotiating happening as they share equipment and ideas.

Week 3, Term 2 Notices

   Malo e lelei to all our students and parents. We have had some wonderful learning taking place over the last few weeks. Our concept for this term is Health and Wellbeing and our children took part in some wonderful ignition activities, learning alongside different teachers and seeing the importance of eating healthily, exercising, how important parts of our bodies need to be looked after and the ability to self regulate through mindfulness. These will hopefully spark some interest and passion for our children. It is important to discuss this at home with your child too. What's happening this week: Wed: Library- (We have changed our library day for this term) Thur: Ascension Liturgy. Fri:  Assembly - Rooms 16 and 17 are leading assembly this week.  Parents are welcome to attend to see your children in action sharing snippets of their learning. Week 2, Term 2 2021

  May 9th 2021 Kia ora Whānau Happy Mother’s Day to our ‘Mums” today. We hope you have a special day with your loved ones.  Thank you for taking the time to come in for the 3 Way Conferences. If you were unable to make it in please touch base and we can make another meeting time.  Thank you to our children who dressed up for 'Children’s World of Prayer' day. It is always nice to see children wearing their national costumes with pride. The mini-marathon on Friday was a great day out. It's nice to see our whanau support, running, and cheering on our tamariki thank you. If you haven't filled out the transportation form for the Cross Country day please do so, we will be needing parent support on the day both for transportation and marshaling if you are able to help we would appreciate it.   Welcome back to Term 2, we hope you had a wonderful holiday and are rested and ready for another busy term.
