Week 6, Term 1 Notices

We are over halfway through term one, and autumn has taken hold with some lovely rain and cooler nights. We are back down to Level 1 now and invite you back into the school, please though remember that if your child isn't well to keep them at home.

Last week, we finished off our time with Henk. The students and teachers learned a lot and had fun with him. We will be swimming again this week in preparation for our Swimming sports day on Monday 22nd March for our Kahikatea and Totara teams. We have been working hard to establish routines with the students over the past few weeks. Although we still have a large number of students that are forgetting to charge their Chromebooks, bring their hats or headphones, please help to establish this routine at home.
Students at this point should be getting their work done at school, we ask that parents read with the students each night at home for 20mins.
The children if managing their time should be able to get their progressions and units in Math-Whizz and Lexia at school.

This week in R.E. we will be looking at the Stations of the Cross and invite you to come to the 10:00 Stations of the Cross with us in the church.
Room 12 is on the Friday assembly this week.
Important Events Coming Up:
- First Aid Fundraiser (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) ice blocks for $1.00 - Swimming every day. Thank you for ensuring your children have their togs, towels, and goggles. - Library is on Monday
-RATS Duathlon event is taking place on Tuesday. - School Gala has been set for Friday, March 19th. A new countdown will be issued to children to take home this week. It is OK for families to bring stuff in earlier this week if they wish.

Friendly Reminders: - Chromebooks need to come to school charged. As we are a BYOD school, many of our learning activities now require devices. Headphones are essential please. - Each child needs a school hat. They can be purchased from the uniform shop for $13.
- Please LABEL your children's clothing, we have quite a few issues with shorts/dresses ending up on the wrong body.
- If you need headphones still, Kmart, The Warehouse, or school have them ranging in price from $8
-Please collect bread tags and yummy stickers if you need a chart please have your child come see Mrs. Dinniss

Week 10, Term 2 - Weekly notices

   Te Ahiahi Pai (Good Afternoon),  I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine and are feeling recharged as we head into our last week of Term 2.  We have had a busy term with a variety of events and activities. It felt fitting that last week we practiced Christian Meditation. It was led by Sister Rachel and Sister Ema from the Sisters of Compassion in Wellington.  During these sessions, children were asked to sit in  S ilence and  S tillness with a  S traight back and  S ay the word Maranatha to themselves, meaning 'Come Lord Jesus'. If you hear your child talking about the 4  S  words, this is what they are referring to.  Christian Meditation is something we are going to continue to practice as a school. It provides an opportunity to take a break and be still, in an otherwise very busy environment!  Things on this week: Wednesday   - Kapa Haka.                       - Principal's luncheon                      - Room 17 Library- please remember to bring your books to swap

Weekly Notices - Term 1 Week 11

  Welcome to Week 11 April 12th - 16th Bonjour Parents and Caregivers We are about to commence the last week of Term 1, which will be followed by the beginning of two week's school holidays. It has been a busy term with lots of important learning and everyone is feeling ready for a break to recharge the batteries. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have given your children, and the school, over the course of Term 1. Swimming is finished until Term 4 and children will not be required to wear a hat next term when outside.  On Sunday we had many of our students being confirmed and making their First Holy Communion. This is a very exciting time for them, please keep them in your prayers. Coming up this week: - No Swimming this week.  - Cricket on Monday. - Chess Club on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes.  - Library and ICT Club on Thursday. - No assembly this week - Interschool Swimming Sports - Senior School Art Exhibition - Friday.
