Kia ora whānau,  Congratulations on making it to the final week of what has been a fun and turbulent school year. Thank you all for the time, dedication and effort you have put into your children's learning, particularly during the lockdown period.  Fort building, dwellings and enclosures were the flavour of the week last week. We even had a few "mini classrooms" built.  Lots of fun and imaginative games were played, some of which lasted all day. We sent school reports home on Friday which included a slip with the name of your child's teacher for 2022. All students will be meeting their new teacher and classmates on Monday.  Coming up this week:  Monday - Duathlon  All children will need to bring their togs, towel, hat and sneakers. They can wear their house colours or PE uniform, please ensure all items are named. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, there will be no spectators allowed. Tuesday - Prizegiving. Once again, u nfortunately, due to...

Weekly Notices, Week 7 Term 4

Image
Good morning on this beautiful summer day.  It is hard to think that there are only three more weeks left of the school year.  Let's make these the three best ones we've had, by being organised, being kind and having a big dollop of patience. 𝅵؜𝅴 Kahikatea is looking forward to our Big Day In on Monday 6 December.  Unfortunately with Covid restrictions, we are unable to invite parents to join us.  Please keep a lookout for a notice which will be sent home this week outlining all the details. Looking back at what was going on this time last year and it was jam packed with lots of activity - preparing for the curtain going up for Peter Pan, Ahurei, student Celebration Day at school, Christmas Parade, students competed in inter-school athletics. Unfortunately many activities have had to be cancelled this year due to COVID and many more will also need to be cancelled. Presently we are looking at how our end of year prizegiving and Mass is going to look. Plans wi...

Swimming this week

Image
We have been really blessed with good weather for our week of swimming.  Well done to most children who remembered to bring their togs and towel every day.   The children have made good progress this term and have shown resilience by challenging themselves to try something new.   Our last swimming week for this year will be in week 8. Here are a few photos from today's session.
